“Royalist loving tory, supporting Celtic doesn’t make him one of us”, “I’ve loved him for 50 years” – Celtic sites Rod Stewart Jubilee post sparks huge debate

Celtic Park

There was always going to be this debate wasn’t there?

The only thing is, it seems not many Celtic supporters groups were actually bothered by Rod Stewarts performance at the Jubilee or the fact that he was ‘made’ to sing Sweet Caroline by the BBC.

The *Rangers fans revelled in it and claimed that we would all be up in arms about this when, in truth, this is the only site I can see that had any form of debate on it.

And to be honest, although passions ran high on this post, it seemed like a fairly even 50/50 split on what the fans thought of Rod after that performance.

And it’s not the first time Rod’s politics has caused debate amongst our support.

As you can see, the post went viral with many fans having their say:

Whatever your politics or your views, our club is open to all right? Or is it?

  1. Can’t stand people who use that “one of us” patter. Who does anyone think they are to speak on behalf of all supporters with any authority about what “one of us” is. Celtic is a club open to all. Tory or not. Monarchist or republican, who bloody cares.
