The Old Firm love in Rangers had at the last Glasgow Derby was just embarrassing.
The overkill on the moniker was a brass neck for the Ibrox clubs fans who have spent the last month or so telling everyone that they don’t want anything to do with us or the Sydney Cup but then had to watch as their club fawned over the OF brand whilst clinging to Celtics coat tails.
And this caller on Clyde 1 took his opportunity to rub it into their fans with this. Have a listen:
It was brilliant opportunism from the fan and a reminder that every time they and their club participate in shameless exploitation of a brand they want nothing to do with, the Celtic fans are watching and listening.
- ’Beale talk’ – Philippe Clement talks about Celtic again and even Rangers fans don’t buy it
The title race is on and it seems that there is a clear difference between how the Celtic and Rangers managers are dealing with the pressure.
Brendan Rodgers took his press conference today and was in a bullish and jovial mood. After revealing that Daizen Maeda is returning to full fitness, the Celtic manager looks calm and relaxed.
In fact, Rodgers was practically horizontal and he even made a joke about the little altercation he had with the Celtic kit man at Hampden on Saturday.
Have a look at this:
Class from Rodgers and it looks like he is a manager who is completely comfortable despite the enromity of the last five games of the season.
Philippe Clement’s gibberish Celtic talk
And when you look at how Philippe Clement handled his press conference, the difference is stark:
I suppose we should be congratulating Clement on winning the ‘Four More Points Than Celtic Trophy’ but then this is unsurprising considering the way the Rangers manager has conducted himself over the last ten days.
In fact, so nonsensical was Clement’s ramblings, it wasn’t just the Celtic fans who were rinsing him. The Rangers supporters got in on the act as well:

Beale talk.

— FPL Regret 🍋 🏴 (@FplRegret) April 26, 2024As you can imagine, there were plenty more comments like this. The presser was so bad even a well-known Rangers troll account got in on the act.

Clement is clever enough to know this, he just likes to give the media a positive personaNever change Phillipe, never change…
- ‘Celtic lied’ – Brendan Rodgers just broke the Rangers fans on Follow Follow today
As a Celtic fan, I love days like today. I love the positivity from Brendan Rodgers. I love good news coming out from Lennoxtown.
There was trepidation heading into the final five games of the season off the back of Celtic announcing an injury to Daizen Maeda last week that may rule him out for the rest of the season.
The Japanese winger, for all his faults, is absolutely key to Celtic retaining the title this season. His work rate and effort for the team more than makes up for his inconsistency in crossing and finishing.
And, let’s be honest, he gives James Tavernier absolute nightmares every time he plays against the Rangers captain.
And whilst the Celtic fans got to grips with the prospect of losing the Japanese wing king, Brendan Rodgers announced that he could very well be fit for the Hearts game next week.
Daizen Maeda gives Rangers fans the fear
Maeda has been a scourge of Rangers ever since he joined Celtic over tow years ago. In thirteen games against them he has been on the winning side eight times and scored three goals and created four.
They absolutely hate playing against him. And as the Celtic fans rejoiced at the news Maeda is coming back in time for the run-in, the announcement actually broke Follow Follow today.
And it all started with this:
And as the news filtered through to the toxic fan forum, the realisation that Tavernier is going to get rinsed at Celtic Park once more began to sink in:
- ‘Wow!’ – Watch pundit’s reactions as £20m Tavernier and Goldson Saudi claim amuses the Celtic fans
What do we love about following and supporting Celtic? Winning trophies? Yep. Trebles? Absolutely. Breaking records and the Rangers fans? That’s got to be up there.
Because that is exactly what we have done for over two decades. More so ever since the new club rose from the ashes of dead Rangers.
Ever since 2012, The Banter Years have been superb. Ibrox tears, bears fighting, defending statues and fighting in George Square after a title win, some of the scenes we have seen is a result of Celtic’s success breaking the spirit of the Newco fans.
£20m valuation of Rangers pair must be ridiculed by Celtic fans
As has our financial position. Out transfer policy, for all it is much criticised, is watched with envy from across the River Clyde.
And that is why this Rangers fan phoned Superscoreboard with this incredible valuation of James Tavernier and Connor Goldson.
Class isn’t it? Even the Saudis are not stupid enough to pay that kind of money for two players now into their thirties.
And two players who always get found out in the big games against Celtic. There is a reason that the Ibrox fans want them gone.
The first is that even they know they are not very good. If weren’t for penalties, Tav would have been chased years ago.
As for Goldson, don’t even get me started on him. I reckon he’ll move to Lithuania and join their basketball league. He’s definitely got the experience for it.
We’ll let them have this moment. Let them dream about a £20m bounty because when it comes down to it and the get a combined of £2m-£3m, the meltdown will be worth just logging into to Twitter (X) alone.
- Embarrassed Journalist shares video of Rangers fans’ bizarre behaviour in London Celtic supporters will find hilarious
Remember when the Rangers won the COVID title and their fans all battered each other in celebration and the Celtic supporters just pointed and laughed?
Yeah, those were great times. Well, not them winning the title but the aftermath of it all. Running battles in George Square, breaking quarantine rules and the incessant nonsense with the fascination of the number 55 made those celebratory scenes a great addition to The Banter Years.
And then do you remember the whole nonsense of the Rangers da’s getting up out of their beds and, instead of going to work, going to George Square to defend statues?
Absolutely class from that moonhowling fanbase. But this one is even better.
Have a watch of this:

You’ll have seen English hooligans scrapping with polis in London to celebrate their national day…
And f–k me if there isnae a pair of Rangers fans in the thick of it on top of this monument singing about the War 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️ pic.twitter.com/COerCs6Lu6Imagine being Scottish, waking up and thinking, ‘You know what I’m going to do? Head down to London to celebrate another country’s national hero and defend statues in my Rangers top.’
What is wrong with these people? Their boot-licking fascination with royalty, flags, statues and anything to do with ruling Britannia is genuinely the most sickly thing I have ever seen.
Just imagine if they put that same effort into saving a dying club. They wouldn’t be in the mess they currently find themselves in.
They are genuinely the most embarrassing fanbase in the country and the fact that they are Scottish shames this country.
