Andy Walker makes huge Jota call ahead of Hearts fixture amid Maeda injury concern

Any fixture against Hearts at Tynecastle is always going to be a difficult one.

The Edinburgh side always seem to up their game against us whilst rolling over and getting their tummy’s tickled off the cousins from Govan.

It’s quite sad really.

But as we prepare for our trip to the capital, Ange Postecoglou may well have a very good selection headache to make. Depending on Maeda’s injury status.

Former Celtic striker Andy Walker has made a huge call over Jota for tomorrow’s match and it’s one I don’t thing many Celtic fans will agree with. Especially after Wednesday nights performance.

Speaking on The Go Radio Football Show, Walker said, “Well, I think Johnson and Taylor will come back.

You’re probably looking at maybe one or two others certainly.

I think certainly Hatate is the obvious one to come back and then the front three from last night if Maeda is still fit, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him start again alongside Abada and Kyogo.

Celtic have got so many a goalscoring threats from middle to front.”

When asked if he thought Jota was coming back in, Walker said, “Not for me, no.

“I would play Abada in front of him I think he is in top form at the moment.”

Abada didn’t play well at all on Wednesday night whilst Jota’s harrying and pressure helped start the ball rolling for Celtic’s second.

If Maeda is fit, Jota comes back in for me. If he’s not, the Haksabanovic should get the nod with Jota and Abada sits this out.

Abada didn’t take his chance on Wednesday night and, unfortunately, he needs to pay the price for that tomorrow.
