“Superb”, “What are the SFA up to?” – Celtic fans are absolutely loving what Brendan Rodgers has said today

Celtic manager, Brendan Rodgers.

It’s certainly been a week for it for Brendan Rodgers, the SFA and Celtic with VAR, hasn’t it?

The manner of the 2-0 defeat at Tynecastle has cast serious doubts on John Beaton‘s ability to officiate a Celtic game without being influenced by his leanings towards Rangers.

Whilst many in the media pretend that he’s not a Rangers fan, the Celtic fans know the truth. Especially after he was pictured in a well-known Rangers establishment the night he refereed a Glasgow Derby defeat to the Ibrox club.

And when you look at the 13 penalty decisions he has given here and the pattern that goes with it, is surely can’t just be coincedence that Beaton seems to favour one club over Celtic?

Anyway, that’s just half the problem Celtic face at the moment. The other half of it is that Brendan Rodgers now faces a ban after what he said about Beaton being ‘incompetent’ in his post match press conference at Tynecastle.

Brendan Rodgers blasts the SFA Celtic VAR report

The Celtic manager seemed calm and relaxed when speaking to the assembled media this afternoon and revealed what the club’s stance was on the report they received from the SFA regarding Hyunjun Yang’s ordering off.

Rodgers said, “My job is to defend the team and defend the club and that’s what we’ll do in this case. We’ll defend it vigorously and when the date comes we’ll go from there.”

Speaking more about the Yang red card, Rodgers shared what was in the SFA report, “I’ve seen incidents worse than that.

“And I thought the onfield decision was correct, the yellow card. We had a report back to say that the studs and the boot was in the face of the player.

“Clearly that was not the case when you watch it.”

Celtic fans praise Brendan Rodgers’ SFA stance

And whilst the blue half of Glasgow pretend that they have never benefitted from any referee decsions this season, the Celtic fans are unanimously backing their manager after his fighting talk this afternoon:

Well it seems the whole Brendan Rodgers, SFA and Celtic VAR issue is not going anywhere soon. Let’s hope Sunday’s Scottish Cup tie doesn’t throw up the same controversy now though.
