John Beaton is still the name on the Celtic fans’ lips this week after his VAR horror show helped contribute to the 2-0 defeat at Tynecastle.
Beaton is never far away from controversy whenever he officiates or is involved in a Celtic game. The famous visit to a well-known Rangers pub after he refereed a highly contentious Rangers win in a Glasgow Derby match a few seasons ago really was the icing on the cake for many Celtic fans.
Brendan Rodgers was livid this week and after the club decided to put in an SFA appeal for the red card issued to Hyunjun Yang, the Celtic support have made their feelings perfectly clear on the SFA whistler after Sunday’s show.

So it is perfectly clear what the Celtic fans think of Beaton after another inept display may well have cost the club dear in the title race.
What will the SFA do? Probably nothing. However, one thing is guaranteed. Beaton will never have to pay for a pint in the Crown Bar ever again after this weekend.
