Follow Follow’s latest deluded thread comparing Celtic star Matt O’Riley and Rangers’ Todd Cantwell

Celtic star, Matt O'Riley

Rangers leapfrogging Celtic to the top of the league this week seems to have left many of their fans with a massive nosebleed.

Because major bloodloss is the only reason I can think of for this bizarre, but hilarious statement about Matt O’Riley on the Sevco fan forum, Follow Follow.

Following up on their mental Liel Abada thread of last week, instead of feeling good about themselves for getting to the top of the league, they decide to make this ridiculous statement about O’Riley and TikTok Tod Cantwell.

The thread started with this completely bizarre statement, “Much has been said this season about their £30m superstar. In the last 9 league games he has had 6 shots on target and scored one goal. Cantwell has had 11 shots on target and scored 5 goals.

“A further indication of the problems they are both causing the opposition is that O’Riley has been fouled 3 times in those games and Cantwell 20 times.

“Sunday was the worst for Cantwell when he was fouled 6 times, O’Riley has been fouled a total of 6 times in the past eleven league games.”

Matt O’Riley’s Celtic stats

Admittedly, O’Riley has been struggling to make an impact of late but over the course of the season he has been immense.

Ten goals and 12 assists in 34 appearances tell you he has been one of the best players in the league. And let’s not forget that three of those assists came in the Champions League against Lazio, Atletico Madrid and Feyenoord.

O’Riley also created assists for the 1-0 win over Cantwell’s club at Ibrox and the 2-1 win over Rangers at Celtic Park in December. [Transfermarkt]

Cantwell however has scored just six goals and created four in 33 appearances for Rangers. He was missing in the last two Glasgow Derbies, even his own fans know he is a liability when it comes to producing in the games that matters.

So please, do me a favour, comparing Cantwell to O’Riley is like comparing a Skoda to a Rolls Royce. There is none. It just shows you how much Celtic have broken them when this is what they focus on over the weekend.
