“Sad b——–” – John Hartson hits back as Rangers fans troll him after Celtic’s Champions League win

That fan base never ceases to amaze me. Despite them having a European tie to look forward to themselves, for some reason they were all tuned into the Scottish champions last night.

John Hartson was on commentary duty last night and instead of watching Coronation Street, the Rangers fans were watching Celtic do something they never will. Win in the Champions League.

And as Hartson took great delight at the victory, the Rangers fans took to social media to throw him a shedload of abuse.

I’m not posting it in here out of respect for the Celtic legend but Hartson hit back at his critics with a brilliant reply on social media.

Hartson said (X), “Been doing co-comms for 17 years. 3 major tournaments.. 3 years with 5 live.. 40 games a season.

“Still people will always look to criticise.. instead of giving praise when you’re spot on.

“World we live in.. sad b-st-rds ! Well played Celtic.”

And the truth is, not one of these faceless cowards would have the courage to say these things to his face.

Not only is Hartson giant in stature, he is also a giant in the eyes of the Celtic supporters. And many of them had his back.

Hartson is a gem of a man and a true Celtic legend. That’s the only opinion that matters.
