Now I know these two compete on BT Sports for light hearted banter. Of course I do but when the banter crosses into spreading a lie that the Rangers fans seem desperate to cling onto whenever Europe is mentioned.
Ally McCoist played to his fanbase’s gallery with a terrible ‘recollection’ of when a UEFA delegate called him to make a claim:

But that is the sort of p*sh we have been reading all week on social media and whilst I appreciate McCoist was having a laugh, but the delusion of the Ibrox fanbase is such that they take these jokes, twist them into the truth and then repeat on their blogs and forums until it becomes truth.
It’s a rise and repeat of their death. Make up the ‘holding company’ lie, repeat and eventually it becomes the truth.
Aided and abetted by a compliant Scottish media of course.
But let’s not mention the fact that Celtic have accumulated more coefficient points than Rangers over the last ten years, which Celtic is being handsomely rewarded for in the payments to the tune of over £7m more than our Ibrox rivals.

How many people in the media are gonna get this wrong? All these rangers pundits spewing nonsense and no one seems to be putting them right. Celtic have a higher Coefficient over the last 10 years and have contributed more points.
