There’s a lot to like about this particular transfer rumour.
In fact, can you call it a rumour when it’s a discussion amongst Celtic fans?
For the purpose of this article, let’s call it a rumour.
Jason Denayer. We all remember him right?
On loan from Man City and partnered with Virgil Van Djik he was a very good and accomplished defender in the season he stayed at Celtic.
It’s hard to believe that was way back in 2014 and what is also hard to believe is that Denayer is also just 26 years old.
After his move from Celtic, the Belgian was then loaned to Galatasaray, then Sunderland and then back to Galatasaray again before he earned a £9m move to Lyon in 2018.
And after over 100 appearances for the French side, Denayers contract is set to expire at the end of the month.
The question is, should Celtic look to bring him back to Paradise? The on field answer for me is yes, of course but as Denayer was earning in excess of £50k per week at the French giants, could Celtic afford to sign him up now?
These fans started a discussion about the defender and it was really interesting what they had to say:
Good player. I still can’t believe they are letting Julian go. Obviously ange doesn’t fancy him or he can’t get fit but when he’s fully fit no one will tell me starfelt is better no chance

I don’t think he believed he was bigger than celtic but he knew he was better than the spl and went to play for other big teams in better climates for more money in better leagues that’s fair enough,Tierney abandoned ten in a row for coin would you take him Back?Me to

I’m not disagreeing with that last comment although I still believe Denayer found his level playing with Celtic. Van Dijk beside him made him look a better player although I suppose when you play in a team with better players around you it improves an individual’s performance

Free agent for a reason? Ledley was a free agent, Dembele was a free agent, just saying.
