Irvine Welsh sums up the Celtic fans’ feelings after watching Fabio Silva’s recent antics

Ibrox Stadium

Irvine Welsh, for the Celtic fans that don’t know, is a massive Hibs fan and hates Rangers just about as much as we do.

His social media activity whenever he winds up the Ibrox club is box office and, of course, we all remember his outstanding rant about Alfredo Morelos.

With all the publicity surrounding Fabio Silva’s diving recently, Welsh took the perfect opportunity to take advantage of this moment and have a simple, but effective, view of the Portuguese winger.

And that is where we are at at the moment. With the number of penalties the Ibrox club get and the fact they are clearly being coached to fall at will, you half expect at least one dive per game that will result in a spot-kick award.

With five games still left to go in the Scottish Premiership season, there is plenty of time left still to witness this nonsense from the Rangers players.

And with current professionals and ex-players like Barry Ferguson refusing to call it out for what it is, the cheating will continue and results will be affected by dodgy refereeing decisions.

So what will it take to stop it? Another tainted title? Or maybe a team being unfairly relegated. Neither will so I guess it’s up to the fans of the game to take action as, clearly, neither the SFA officials or the SPFL are willing to tackle this issue head-on.

  1. They’re deliberating avoiding PTR so they can use their ineptitude skills at CP for the Orcs!
