Barry Ferguson’s bizarre verdict on Fabio Silva’s Hampden dive – Celtic fans will not be surprised

Barry Ferguson talking Celtic

Fabio Silva is fast becoming a joke figure amongst the Celtic fans of late.

His antics for Rangers over the past few games have been nothing short of embarrassing and on Sunday at Hampden, he disgraced himself once more.

Clean through on goal, instead of trying to score, the on-loan Wolves man decided to take a tumble in such a bizarre manner that not even the most purist of football fans could believe.

And whilst current professional players like Andy Halliday are happy to pick up a punditry job but not do their job correctly and bottle out of calling out Fabio Silva for what he is, then there is no hope to ever eradicate cheating from our game.

Barry Ferguson’s bizarre Fabio Silva excuse

So what’s Barry Ferguson‘s excuse then? When asked what he thought of Silva’s antics, the former Rangers captain offered this sorry excuse.

Ferguson said (The Go Radio Football Show), “I think he’s been caught flat-footed as well.

“And he’s not been able to move his feet quick enough.”

Come on, surely even Ferguson doesn’t buy that? Watch the dive below:

Knees buckle, hands thrown in the air and then the roll to claim for a penalty. All that was missing was for Silva to do the Hokey Cokey and turn around!

An embarrassing take from a pundit that can’t take off his blue-tinted spectacles. Are we really surprised?
