Celtic fans won’t believe what VAR allegedly checked for a Rangers penalty today

VAR has been the curse of Celtic ever since it was introduced just over em18 months ago.

The refereeing technology was brought in to reduce the number of mistakes that have been happening in our game.

But all it has done is highlight the pattern of assistance that once club seems to get in Scotland compared to others.

We all know that Rangers are refereed to a different standard to the rest of the league.

Some of the favourable penalty decisions they get (and red cards)!compared to other clubs is ridiculous and it is little wonder when you find out what VAR is actually checking for.

Today at Hampden Rangers booked their place in the Scottish Cup Final with Celtic after beating a pathetic Hearts team 2-0.

But there was a moment that Fabio Silva was clean through on goal when he ‘fell’ over the ball with no Hearts player in sight.

So what does VAR do? Checks for a penalty of course.

Have a watch of this:

It’s really quite something, but not surprising that the VAR team felt they had to check this.

It’s as if they are actively looking for decision to give in favour of one team.

The more this keeps getting highlighted then the more chance we could have of eradicating these other honest mistakes from our game.

Although I won’t hold my breath!
