Graham Spiers risks the wrath of Ibrox support as he labels ‘bam pot’ element

As if he isn’t hated enough by the *Rangers support, Graham Spiers just paints another target on his back with his latest comments on his Press Box podcast.

Speaking with former SPL CEO Roger Mitchell, Spiers was commenting on how the *Rangers fans seemed relatively better behaved in Seville than Manchester.

Now we all know that’s not strictly true as we’ve all seen the Hate Catholics video but it was night and day from Manchester.

Speaking on his Press Box podcast, Spiers said, “Yeah, okay I’m trying to work out where where this will go, I mean Roger, you talk about the changing face of football fans and I see this myself.

The kind of body politic of football fans is changing. I thought the Rangers support, for example, out in Seville was quite interesting.

For me, and there’s no scientific way of affirming this, but for me, it was a it was a slightly different demographic of the Ranger supporter.

To put it bluntly, some of the bam pots were disenfranchised from getting out there.

Tickets are so expensive. Travel is so expensive. A lot a lot of diehard fans were disenfranchised from getting there. Economically, they couldn’t get there.

I think another change was were far more women, families, teenagers, women among the Rangers support in Seville which I think enhanced the support.

And dare I say, probably sucked away some of the aggression that might have been there because I think that’s the effect of a more mixed congregation.

Incoming Mr Spiers!!!
