“Only in Scotland can Police officers can be bent, but referees can’t” – Stunning report details Duff & Phelps police intimidation

The year *Rangers died was one of the biggest stories in not only Scottish football, but world football.

Financial doping on a massive scale, side letters and tax avoidance were just the tip of the iceberg for the former Ibrox club.

But a report by The Times Scotland has detailed that investigations being led by the Police into the collapse of the takeover of the Oldco where they were trying to prove fraudulent behaviour which then led to the liquidation of the club was led by openly ‘partisan’ Detective Chief Inspector Jim Robertson.

In this thread by the media outlet The Times Phil Duffy of Duff and Phelps describes the investigation, “It was like something out of the 1970s. I felt like I was in an episode of Life on Mars with Gene Hunt. At one point, Robertson sat back in his chair, raised himself up and started chanting. I can only presume it was a Rangers song.

“He [Robertson] talked about ‘the big hoose’ and I had no idea what he was talking about. I now know it is a term that Rangers fans use to refer to Ibrox.

“He was clearly trying to intimidate me, but I had done nothing wrong so I had nothing to fear. The police should be held to higher standards and I feel there is no way he should be allowed to hold on to his job.”

The report also details how the police officers spent thousands of pounds on jollies to New York, Ohio and South Africa to discuss issues that could have been dealt with over the phone.

Is it a coincidence that Duffy is a Northern Irish Catholic as well? Of course it is. What ARE you trying to insinuate?
