Celtic ‘set’ for cash windfall as Romano predicts £25m EPL transfer

Match Day Celtic Park

Celtic’s transfer business has been all around the departure of Josip Juranovic and Giorgos Giakoumakis over the last few days.

Whilst I believe that Giakoumakis is a certainty to stay, Juranovic looks ever likely that he is set to move on after twitter updates last night claimed that the club are actively trying to sell him on:

But it’s not Juranovic that this cash windfall will come from.

It’s from former Celtic defender Jeremie Frimpong. The young Dutchman has been tipped [The Express] for a £25m move to Manchester United this January with transfer expert Fabrizio Romano claiming that he could join up with Erik ten Hag sooner rather than later.

Romano said, “The price tag of Frimpong is around £25m. Bayer Leverkusen wanted to keep the player, not an easy one.

What we can say is that Frimpong would be really keen.

Frimpong would love Premier League football in general and Manchester United in this case.”

You would imagine that Ange Postecoglou would be handed every single penny recouped on the Frimpong transfer and with a ‘significant’ sell on clause being reported, Celtic could be looking at a minimum of a £2.5m bonus this winter even if the clause is a 10% standard one.
