Ally McCoist’s tears as latest ‘strange’ Rangers claim will have Celtic fans in stitches

talkSPORT host, Ally McCoist

The Celtic fans absolutely love the Ibrox support and pundits when they have one of their infamous meltdowns whenever anything doesn’t go their way.

We all witnessed it when Rangers got humped by Benfica and subsequently parped out of the Europa League.

We also saw it when Celtic skelped the Ibrox club in Govan this season and then at Celtic Park for the follow-up Glasgow Derby.

It doesn’t take much to trigger them but when they go, it’s great content for the Celtic supporters. And here is another piece of lovely content from the gift that keeps on giving, Ally McCoist.

The former Rangers hero was on talkSPORT crying about England’s latest squad announcement and went on an unbelievable rant about Jack Butland not being called up by Gareth Southgate. Yeah, you read that right.

McCoist cried, “I don’t know what he has got to do.

“His performances and his form have been fantastic. There’s now injured players and guys, effectively, not playing getting picked before him.

“That’s Gareth’s prerogative, that’s definitely a strange one for me.” (talkSPORT)

Come on mate! An England call-up? Seriously? Now I think Butland is a good keeper but he has done nothing of note to warrant that accolade.

That’s almost as funny as Alan Hutton valuing Butland at £15m earlier this season.

He’s failed to beat Celtic twice, he’s only won one medal and that was really down to Celtic getting knocked out of the League Cup and the fact that VAR helped save him from conceding a penalty against Aberdeen in the final.

McCoist really is deluded if he believes that Butland deserves a call-up to one of the most talented England squads of their time.
