Celtic fans roast Joey Barton’s latest social media ramblings

former Rangers player, Joey Barton

Joey Barton will always be remembered by the Celtic fans as a player who couldn’t put his money where his mouth was when he signed for Rangers and promised to show Scott Brown who was the boss in the SPFL.

We all remember how he sh*t it from Scott Brown as Barton looked down at the ground in the handshake prior to Celtic humping Rangers 5-1 in Barton’s first Glasgow Derby.

We also remember Broony telling the watching world exactly what he thought of the mouthy English footballer when he said Barton was ‘easy‘ to play against and there was ‘no battle’ as it was ‘men versus boys’.

So when Barton opens an account on social media, you just know he was born for it because what he posts on X, he would never say to anybody’s face in person.

His well-publicised crusade against female sports presenters and females in football took a darker turn this week when he publicly called out a 17-year-old Partick Thistle player in the Sky Sports Cup.

Young goalkeeper, Ava Eadson, made a mistake (just like male professional goalkeepers do week in, week out) that led to a Rangers goal in the cup final. Barton decided to publicly humiliate the youngster by tweeting out the video and slagging her off.

And this morning, he doubled down as the national newspapers called out the mouthy Scouser for his embarrassing social media gaffe.

I mean, let’s just ignore Barton’s blatant lack of understanding of grammar and the English language but to target a kid who’s just starting out in the game is out of order and these Celtic fans let him know all about it:

You just know Joey Barton defends statues on a Saturday afternoon during international week, don’t you?
