Phil Mac – The SFA have just been warned Celtic mean business this week

Celtic Park

As Brendan Rodgers’ SFA hearing nears, the Celtic boss will be wondering just how far the national association is likely to take his comments.

Will Rodgers be banned from the Ibox dugout on the 7th of April or will he escape a ban completely?

We told recently about how Dermot Desmond is looking to ‘handle’ the SFA on in light of the Celtic manager‘s charge.

But it seems that the Celtic supremo has taken things one stage further in preparation for the meeting that’s to be held in Mount Florida in a few days time.

Desmond’s evidence of Rangers ‘honest mistakes’

Phil Mac Giolla Bhain has shared how Desmond has been looking not into just how many games Rodgers could potentially miss if the SFA pin this charge on him.

It seems that the Irish billionaire has been deploying a team to gather research on the patterns of assistance that seems to favour the Ibrox club.

In his latest blog, Phil said, “I believe the SFA has miscalculated by charging Brendan Rodgers for his post-match comments after the game against Hearts.

“My understanding is that the people in power at Celtic are not looking at this as simply a potential two-match ban problem to be dealt with.

“Instead, they see that the SFA has opened the door to the forensic dissection of match officials’ ‘incompetence’ by legal heavyweights.

“Moreover, I’m told that the Parkhead club now has a substantial body of research that examines these ‘mistakes’ over three seasons.”

It does look like the SAF may well have bitten of more than they can chew with Celtic.
