The Brendan Rodgers faux fury over his Jane Lewis comments after Celtic’s win over Motherwell has been to the rounds in the media over the last few days.
Referring the BBC journalist as ‘good girl’ has upset a lot of people in the media and gave some the worst journalistic hacks their headlines for the rest of the week.
However, the Celtic manager has also been defended this week and the latest ‘celebrity’ to come out and back him is none other than ex-Coronation Street star, Charlie Lawson. (Yes, I know!)
Lawson rose to fame on the popular ITV soap and has himself had some questionable views on social media and now he has come out to defend Rodgers with one of the weirdest posts on social media yet.
Where to even start with this. First off, get the spelling of his name right. It’s not hard Charlie. Secondly, why exactly has he ‘no time’ for Rodgers? Is it because of Lawson’s inherent dislike for Celtic fans?
And thirdly and probably most importantly. What exactly does he mean by ‘his group’? What is Lawson suggesting here although we could probably take an educated guess?
This is the ramblings of an idiot and despite his backing of the Celtic manager, I genuinely wish he hadn’t bothered. And so do these fans.
