Brendan Rodgers was 100% correct about a Celtic media narrative after Mark Guidi’s latest Rangers comments

Match Day Celtic Park

Brendan Rodgers has come under fire over the last couple of days for two things.

His comment to Jane Lewis after the BBC aggressively pursued a line of questioning Rodgers refused to answer time and again and claiming that the media are starting to write a story about his Celtic team this season.

Indeed, the story is that the title race is all but over because we are struggling and Rangers are somehow all-conquering.

Of course, that isn’t the case as Celtic proved on Sunday. The battling 3-1 win over Motherwell tells you that there is still life in this title race yet unless you listen to journalist, Mark Guidi.

Mark Guidi has completely written Celtic off

The Go Radio pundit and journalist was speaking about the upcoming fixtures this week when he made some interesting comments about Rangers.

Guidi said [The Go Radio Football Show], “If there’s a game that Rangers are not going to win out of the ten, this could be it.

“Other than that I fancy Rangers to win every other game. But if it does happen, I don’t think it will derail Rangers but I think Kilmarnock might just have it in them.”

Hold up, have Celtic not beaten Rangers twice already this season? And have they also not lost to Aberdeen under Clement?

It’s comments like these that completely back up Rodgers’ feelings towards the media narrative and with Hugh Keevins also at it at the weekend, at least the Celtic manager has plenty of motivational material to hit his players with for the rest of the season.

Not that he needs it.
