“Give the rest of us a chance”, “Mate ma Mrs is on here” – Celtic fans, Jota and Juranovic’s hilarious replies to Hoops star’s latest Instagram post

The Celtic players are all on a well-earned summer break. After winning a historic treble and with some participating in the latest international break, now is the time for them to take a couple of weeks R&R before pre-season starts in July.

Celtic’s Matt O’Riley was in training with Denmark just after the season ended and despite not representing the country in this international break, it’s fair to say his debut for the senior squad will not be that far away.

However, holiday beckons. So do photo’s of players in their moments of relaxation and Matt O’Riley posted a photo on Instagram that instantly made the male population of the Celtic support tell him to give it a by.

I mean, come on ffs! What chance does anyone have when O’Riley looks like something that has been chiselled out of stone?

The 21-year-old clearly looks after himself and it’s fair to say the Celtic fans, although they appreciate Matt looking after his fitness, were feeling a little insecure about the pic.

So was former Celtic, Josip Juranovic and current Hoops hero, Jota.

Matt O'Riley Celtic   It’s fair to say our Matt looks after himself so I’m going to end this blog here as I already feel unhandsome at the time of writing!

Anthony Joseph delivers surprising update on Brendan Rodgers to Celtic

The Brendan Rodgers to Celtic story is one that has gripped the supporters all throughout the day.

With the news that Dermot Desmond is set to meet Rodgers in London breaking this morning, it did seem to suggest that Celtic were stepping up the hunt to get their new man in place.

And that man clearly looked like Rodgers. Maybe not, according to Sky Sports Anthony Joseph.

It seems that although Celtic are interested in Rodgers as the preferred candidate, we are in fact in no rush to get the deal done.

Joseph tweeted, “Celtic are expected to hold further talks with Brendan Rodgers this week over a potential return as manager.

“He is the preferred candidate, but is considering various options for his future.”

“Celtic are in no rush and are also considering other targets, including Enzo Maresca.”

Looking at the media frenzy this morning and this afternoon, you would be forgiven for thinking that Dermot Desmond is moving heaven and earth to get Rodgers.

But instead, it seems that we are keeping our options very much open.

No doubt this story will develop as the day continues but the Celtic fans will need to remain patient as it looks like we have a bit to wait yet before we find out who is taking over from Ange Postecoglou.

“Some people have short memories” – Objectivity out Journalist slaughters Celtic managerial favourite

As Celtic look one step closer to appointing a new manager, I can kind of get this kind of sentiment whenever a former custodian of the club looks set to return.

Especially if that custodian is Brendan Rodgers. The former Liverpool, Celtic and Leicester City manager is coming under further scrutiny this week as reports circulate that he has been spoken to by members of the Parkhead board.

And whilst some fans have a right to voice their concerns, others also have the right to show their approval.

But this time, it’s a journalist that has slammed the possible return of Rodgers.

Peter Martin took to Twitter today to give what he called a history lesson regarding Rodgers. And he didn’t hold back.

Martin tweeted, “Some people have short memories. Player revolt, tedious football, European humiliation and a man declaring his love while working his ticket out of the club. #historylesson, “

All fair points but points that are designed to suit an agenda.

If he was going to be balanced about this he would have mentioned the fact that he delivered a double treble, put us well on the road to the Treble Treble and gave the Celtic some incredible memories with that Invincibles season.

Context is important. And whilst I strongly disagreed with how Rodgers left Celtic, I can also appreciate what he brought to the club.

Watch stunning video as thousands of fans break into song at Celtic Park

The Treble celebrations were in full swing after the final whistle went at Hampden yesterday afternoon. Ange Postecoglou and his players took in the adulation of the fans on the pitch as another historic treble was wrapped up.

But it was back at Celtic Park where the fans really got in the mood for some celebrations.

As fans congregated along Celtic Way, the fans burst into incredible song to one of our favourite post match anthems.

The Celtic fans will no doubt be continuing their celebrations this afternoon as it sinks in that they are now world record holders for domestic trebles won in football.

Ange Postecoglou will also be enjoying his celebrations away from the media as the Celtic manager was continually grilled yesterday on his immediate future.

The fans will want to know if the legendary manager will stay or go but for now, they will continue to bask in the glory of another treble as our domination of Scottish football continues.
