“What I’ve been told” – Interesting development on Alex Rae dressing room bust-up rumour as Celtic game nears

Rangers assistant manager, Alex Rae

A title fight isn’t really for all footballers. Some can handle the pressure, some don’t. For the Celtic players, it’s simply par for the course.

We have been the most dominant club in Scotland this century and winning titles and cups has been a massive part of our history, but more so recently.

A Quadruple Treble and a second nine-in-a-row has helped prepare these Celtic players for this title fight and they, and Brendan Rodgers, have more than enough experience to deal with it.

The Rangers players, however, do not. One title in twelve years is laughable and as they keep on Celtic’s coattails the pressure is clearly getting to them.

Philippe Clement’s touchline antics have left a lot to be desired. Fabio Silva has been giving it to the Rangers fans in the stand and players are also fighting with supporters outside the stadium. But that’s not all that’s going down.

Frank McAvennie shares what he’s heard about Rae and Silva fight

We told you about a rumour that suggested Rangers assistant manager, Alex Rae, and winger Fabio Silva apparently came to blows in the Ibrox dressing room after beating Kilmarnock.

It seems there may be an element of truth to it as former Celtic striker, Frank McAvennie shares what he’s been told.

McAvennie said (Football Insider), “I didn’t like Silva as well. I didn’t like him going to the Rangers fans and doing that.

“I’m thinking, why are you doing that? Because they’re giving you stick? You’ve not been playing well, you’re entitled to get stick.

“Everybody gets stick. “He’s giving all that to them, [telling them to] shut up. Really?

“From what I have been told, there was an argument in the dressing room, it’s hearsay so they probably won’t say that, but the pressure is getting to them.

“Celtic have been through this before, but this is the first time in years they’ve been that close.”

As the Celtic game nears, the Ibrox implosion continues. This is superb!
