‘Broony was annoyed’ – Tam McManus shares why Celtic hero was raging at Ibrox on Saturday

Former Celtic hero Scott Brown

Scott Brown has had his fair share of battles as the Celtic captain at Ibrox over his years at the club.

The legendary midfielder was never done getting the better of his Glasgow rivals and in the Scottish Cup on Saturday, his Ayr side put up a great fight against the Ibrox outfit.

Ayr eventually lost the game 2-0 but Tam McManus has shared that Broony would have been raging because the Govan side should have not one, but TWO red cards against the Championship side.

McManus said (PLZ Soccer), “The Ayr United boy does him a favour.

”If that boy rolls about I think he’s off. He actually played on. The boy must have iron ankles.

“It was a straight-footer and he went in high. It wasn’t even repeated.

”It wasn’t shown again. It was only highlighted on Sportscene later so the boy did him a favour.

“Fabio Silva was fortunate. I think he could have got a second yellow. I think his first yellow was soft but then he goes and chops the boy.

“And Broony was annoyed because he scored the second goal that clinched the game.”

It’s strange how the Ibrox supporters have been very quiet about this fortunate refereeing decision.

The pattern of assistance continues for Philippe Clement. It’s little wonder the Belgian is a huge fan of VAR in this country.
