The apparent collapse of Celtic this season under Brendan Rodgers really has been something to behold.
Just like the rest of the Celtic support, I am fuming at how we could surrender a ten-point lead at the top of the table so meekly whilst the Celtic board sits pleased with themselves about a mountain of cash they have in the bank that should be getting used to strengthen the team.
After watching two shockingly bad transfer windows under Rodgers the fans know exactly who is to blame if Celtic fail to win the league.
Don’t get me wrong, Rodgers will take a portion of the blame but we won’t forget how he was hamstrung with a recruitment team that couldn’t identify a player in a game of poker.
And whilst the fans lament the January window, a major social media account has made a claim about Lawwell and Rodgers that will concern the Celtic support.
The Retro Celtic which has over 40k followers said on X, “Lawwell has been gunning for Brendan Rodgers since the day he returned to the club.
“The Manager was made to look a fool last night when the transfer window closed and he didn’t receive the quality signings that he’d requested.
“Job done Peter Lawwell and shame on you!”
The assumption that Celtic’s transfer business only started to get hampered when Lawwell returned to the club is one many fans have jumped to and it’s difficult to disagree with that.
The penny-pinching we all witnessed in Rodgers’ first spell and the shockingly bad recruitment then (Marvin Compper anyone?) seems to be back and it could end up derailing our push for the title.
If that happens then the Celtic support won’t just demand Rodgers’ head, Lawwell & Co will be next!
If that’s a fact and everyone is believing that to be the case how can ANYBODY lay the blame at BR’S door. I’m loosing the will to live with comments like that. It’s the same guy who cost us 10nro now he’s F*cking up this title but people still want to blame the manager when he’s been handed a spoon to hammer a nail. Give me strength
