Clyde pundit lauds Postecoglou’s ‘magnificent’ Celtic squad

Celtic Park

It’s taken Ange Postecoglou all of 17 months to build a squad of genuine quality.

During that time, the big Aussie gaffer has wrestled the league title and league cup and it set to retain the title this year as he has a seven point cushion at the top of the SPFL.

Postecoglou is set to strengthen again this January with the imminent capture of Japanese defender Yuki Kobayashi.

But the current squad at the moment is chalk full of talent and Marvin Bartley hailed it as ‘magnificent’ on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard, “What a strong, strong team. You make six changes and they bring in people like Starfelt and Kyogo etc and Abada coming off the bench. It’s magnificent.

“You look at their substitutes bench as well and if things aren’t going right for Ange he’s not scared to change it.

You get to that 60 minute mark and to be able to bring on people like Forrest and Haksabanovic and Giakoumakis.

So listen, that is a very, very strong team. As he said a lot of people would argue that is the strongest team.”

It’s a far cry from where we were at this time last year. Scratching around the B team to fill the squad whilst trying to compete in the league and in Europe.

Postecoglou is a genius and I cannot wait to see what he brings to the club in January.
