As the circus on the pitch continues there also seems to be unrest in the boardroom as the board look to recoup some of the £100m of losses made in the last 10 years.
No doubt, the Champions League money and the run to the Europa League Final has helped mitigate some of these losses but, let’s face it, that kind of money is not a guaranteed source of income and once it runs dry, what then for the club?
Do they continue where they left off and continue to spend money they don’t have? Or will the board look to sell up and move on and hope there could be a sugar daddy around the corner?
In his latest blog, Phil Mac Ghiolla Bhain hinted that all may not be as it seems in the higher echelons of Mount Doom:
