Report says ‘sources’ claim Celtic set to write off £3m

Transfer incomings and outgoings are going to be the talk of the summer and as Ange Postecoglou looks set to strengthen in the next window, he will also have a hell of a job trying to get those players deemed surplus to requirements out the club.

Now, there is no official confirmation of what players will need to find another club but it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to work out that players like Barkas, Ajeti and Urhoghide will not be playing their next game at Paradise.

But a report by Football Insider has claimed that Celtic’s £3m man Boli Bolingoli has played his last game for the club.

The report says, “A Celtic source has told Football Insider that Bolingoli is deemed surplus to requirements by Ange Postecoglou and his coaching staff.

“The club have told the former Club Brugge defender he is free to find a new club at the end of the season, when he is expected to leave permanently or on loan again.”

Bolingoli did manage to find an exit from his Parkhead hell in the January window with a move to Russia, but incredibly found his way back at Parkhead due to the ensuing war with Ukraine.

It does look like Celtic will need to write off some, if not all, of the £3m spent on the Belgian in an effort to remove him from the wage bill.
