“Not part of his plans” – Alex McLeish makes bizarre Karamoko claim

Yeah it must be that time where Celtic are close to winning the league. That time where former *Rangers (oldco) employees come out and hit out with random statements to try and deflate the team or plant a seed of doubt in the squad.

Anything, just ANYTHING to try and give their fake club a boost in the title race.

And what better place to start than with a young and upcoming star in the game, Karamoko Dembele.

Dembele has been long touted as one the hottest prospects in Scottish football and seemed set to get his break in Ange’s team this season were it not for a horror injury picked up pre season.

But now he has recovered and is making the matchday squads, Dembele seems ready to try and make his mark in the team and possibly earn himself that much coveted contract extenesion.

Not so, says Alex McLeish. The former Govan manager has made a completely baseless accusation about the future of Dembele that, unless he knows the inner workings of Postecoglou and Celtic, has just made up nonsense about one of Celtic’s top prospects.

Speaking to Football Insider, McLeish said, “I get the feeling with Postecoglou that he isn’t going to fire in the young ones and that means Dembele is not part of his plans.

“He is focusing on the guys that he has invested in and put some thought into.

“He already knows his strategy for Celtic. When he knows what he can get out of people, these are the guys that he tends to play.

“That is just something I’ve noticed from observing him over a few months.”

So is McLeish trying to tell us all that in his first year at the club, Ange has put nothing into Dembele’s rehab or development?

Is he telling us all that unless a youngsters boots are on the pitch, Ange takes no interest in them considering how many young prospects have already made the leap into the first team already this season?

McLeish needs to concentrate on his own club, if he still believes it is his own club.
