“I was thinking, ‘F**king hell'” – Andy Halliday on the cup final ‘big risk’ Ange took

Celtic Park

The cup final has evoked a lot of reactions from all quarters.

For the Celtic fans, one of joy mixed with relief that we can finally put the club across the water back in their box.

The constant media p*sh was unbearable as Beale and his players shot their mouths off to anyone that would listen to them being a better team and having better players.

Which is quite incredible considering they have accomplished not much more than St Johnstone have in the last ten years.

However, the cup is back at Celtic Park and as the dust settles we now look to analyse the game and just how far ahead we are of them.

But there was one moment in the match that caught Andy Halliday’s attention. A moment that he believed could have haunted Ange Postecoglou had it all gone wrong.

Speaking on The Open Goal podcast, Halliday said, “See when Ange took off Hatate and Kyogo I was thinking, ‘F**king hell’.

See if Rangers equalised and you’re going to extra time without those two on the pitch?

That as a big risk but it just shows the trust he has in his team.”

And his last sentence sums up the manager. He has complete faith and trust in his team. He knows his players like the back of his hand and what they are capable of.

We don’t do our talking in the media, we do it on the pitch.
