David Tanner’s bitterness shines through after Celtic were robbed at Ibrox

David Tanner on commentary duty for Celtic in the Champions League

Celtic’s draw at Ibrox will make the headlines this week for all the wrong reasons.

Brendan Rodgers saw his team robbed of two valuable points at Ibrox after Fabio Silva’s dive bought a penalty that inspired a Rangers comeback when they looked as dead and buried as the Oldco.

In truth, Celtic should have left Ibrox with all three points and a new-found healthy lead at the top of the SPFL.

And whilst the Celtic fans pick over the bones of some shoddy VAR, David Tanner ignored that and instead, took a swipe at Celtic defender, Alistair Johnston, instead.

Let’s just forget that the penalty at Celtic Park that Tanner is referring to wasn’t actually a penalty and let’s also forget that Silva dived after Johnston got the ball, the former Sky broadcaster has just showed why he cannot be trusted to be impartial once again.

Because Tanner has previous of his anti-Celtic rantings on social media. Heaven knows I’ve covered them enough on this sight on the link above.

If you’re going to make comments like Tanner has done here, then he needs to be able to back them up. But he can’t and that’s why he, like Kris Boyd, will never be trusted by the Celtic fans whenever it comes to making any comments about our club.

These ex-Rangers pros and journalists with clear Rangers leanings need to kept as far away from commenting about Celtic as possible.

Because they do themselves and the broadcasters they work for absolutely no favours.
