Celtic “Bid” For Serie A Star. Things Are Getting Very Interesting

Celtic have reportedly made a bid of around £3.4m for Scottish left back Aaron Hickey. As reported by Born Celtic just two days ago, Hickey’s move to Paradise could be scuppered if fellow Serie A giants Napoli go their way.

Napoli where urged to sigh Hickey by their former legendary player, Gianni di Marzio, when he said of the talented Scotsman, “Napoli need to make some serious changes to their team for the new season. They have to get rid of players and recruit well.

I’m looking at someone like Aaron Hickey of Bologna – I see him as being a perfect fit for Napoli.

“Hickey is a very good, young player. He knows how to do both the defensive side of the game and he’s very dangerous in an attacking sense.

“Of course, it would depend on how much he is available for and how much Napoli wants to invest, but he has to be someone that would interest them.”

Well we do know now roughly how much he will cost and the ball is firmly in Bologna’s court now whether to accept the bid or try to hawk him out to various clubs with a view to inflating the asking price.

With the transfer stories starting to come around thick and fast, it will be interesting to see the type of player that Postecoglou will bring in so he can deploy his “philosophy”.
