It’s 2022.
For those of you that don’t believe me, genuinely, it is.
Look, check your phone. I’m not kidding.
But the month of July always feels like a throw back to the 1690’s and when you open up Twitter and see ‘Catholics’ trending, an overwhelming sense of dread just hits.
And it’s not because Catholicism is synonymous with our club as we have people of all faiths that support our team.
It’s because you just know that Celtic in some way, shape or form are always dragged into this cess pit of sh*t.
I mean, what exactly are these ‘celebrations’ all about?
A war that was fought nearly 400 years ago that if you pointed out to the pavement stampers that their revered King Billy as in cahoots with the Pope they would probably choke on their flutes.
It’s completely moronic and narrow minded individuals that have hijacked what the war was really about (read it here) and twisted it into a Catholic v Protestant issue which has manifested into being a Celtic hating problem as well.
I mean my knowledge on it is limited because I am not a knuckle dragging moron and don’t believe is burning people because of their religion, but hey, that’s just me.
However, the outrage shown on social media is starting to show and people are getting fed up of this yearly racist fest:
The Brits wouldn’t allow catholics to attend Mass to accommodate an orange walk. Mass was celebrated on the street 1997 pic.twitter.com/qETq1XKoiJ

I take it that you don’t realise what “KAT” stands for?
Kill All Taigs
i.e. Kill All Catholics
A little bit more offensive to me (a taig) than a flag being burnt, even if it’s my preferred flag.— eamon woolsey (@bikelovr750) July 12, 2022
This guy must be a sootsayer:
Taking bets… How much you want to bet “Catholics” is trending due to the same people who preach tolerance, acceptance and not targeting groups of people, having an issue with an entire group of people…

And I’ll just leave this here. You genuinely can’t make it up:
