I mean I’ve heard this utter tripe being rolled out by *Rangers fans for weeks now.
The narrative that Celtic’s European Cup win didn’t mean as much as this Europa League run because we played less games than them is just stupidity.
What we call ‘wee guy’ mentality.
It’s mental. No one takes that claim seriously except them. The amount of lies they tell themselves to comfort them from the fact that they are no longer the same club is scary enough, but that?
Mental right?
Well, not so mental according to Hugh Keevins. On last nights Superscoreboard he made this claim:
Look, this run they have went on has been amazing for them. No question.
But to claim that when a team full of guys all from Glasgow, bar one, takes on the champions from European nations in every round of the cup then beat the giants of Inter Milan is now no longer the greatest European night in Scottish football history is just utterly, utterly insane.
Perspective here. Earlier in the show, Hugh spoke about the ‘have’s and have nots’ in Europe. Financial imbalance.
If *Rangers hadn’t made losses of over £100m in ten years and actually spent what they could afford, do you think they would have won the league never mind get to a European final?
Absolutely not. They would be lucky to finish second.
So spare me this p**h.
The lamb really is succulent this week.
