Celtic podcaster reveals what Neil Lennon did in Ibrox when Matt O’Riley scored

Former Celtic manager. Neil Lennon

The Glasgow Derby seems like a long time ago for the Celtic fans now.

Ever since Philippe Clement celebrated the 3-3 win at Ibrox, it’s all been downhill for Rangers ever since.

A defeat against Ross County was followed up by a superb 0-0 victory at Dens Park as the Ibrox side’s bottle crashed at such a crucial stage of the season.

The ensuing meltdown on Glasgow’s south side has been excellent but it was at Ibrox that Neil Lennon showed his true Celtic colours in the Glasgow Derby draw.

Neil Lennon’s Ibrox celebration

Discussing the results of the past few weeks on A Celtic State of Mind, Paul John Dykes and JP Mason were speaking about former Celtic managers being actual supporters when JP revealed what he was told about Lennon’s reaction to Matt O’Riley’s penalty.

JP said (A Celtic State of Mind), “There are people that are still questioning whether Neil Lennon is a Celtic man.

“I heard and I have it on fairly good authority that when Matt O’Riley scored that penalty, Neil Lennon was the loudest voice in Ibrox celebrating the goal.

“Because it was just tumbleweeds everywhere in the whole stadium.”

Superb from Lenny and I bet it stuck in Kris Boyd’s throat as well.

Lenny is most definitely a dyed-in-the-wool Celtic fan and a legend at the club. Being the only ever person to ever win a treble at the same club as a player and manager enters Lennon into the annuls of not only the Celtic history books, but football as a whole.

Lennon is now working in the media as a pundit and has admitted that he would love to get back into the managerial game.

Whether that happens or not is one thing but what cannot be denied is that Lenny bleeds green.
