As sure as there is life, death and taxes, VAR is at hand to give Rangers a helping hand to try and keep top spot from Celtic.

The Ibrox club toiled this afternoon as a Dan Casey goal gave Motherwell a deserved 2-1 Ibrox win and blew the title race wide open.

However, the win wasn’t as straight forward as it should have been as Rangers were given another pattern of assistance after this bizarre VAR call awarded the Govan side a penalty.
