Celtic have been given a huge incentive ahead of their trip to Tynecastle tomorrow afternoon.
Brendan Rodgers will send out his side knowing that a win will reclaim top spot in the Scottish Premiership after Celtic spent no less than ten days in second place.
A Dan Casey goal in the 75th minute sealed a 2-1 Motherwell win at Ibrox and the fans wasted no time in telling Philippe Clement exactly what they thought of the result:
Even VAR couldn’t save Rangers as they were awarded a penalty that looked very dubious to help the Ibrox side draw level.
It wasn’t enough however as Stuart Kettlewell’s side remained resilient as they grabbed all three points and took them back to North Lanarkshire with them.
For Celtic and Brendan Rodgers though, all they need to do now is win at Tynecastle and the natural order has been resumed at the top of the table.
The meltdown at Ibrox has been coming. I’ve told her on countless occasions how the fans were cracking under the pressure of a title race.
Fighting in the stands broke out at the recent Ross County game and no doubt there will be more gnashing and wailing as the weekend draws to a close.
Just imagine how they are going to react if Celtic go top tomorrow. What a weekend it will be.
