“I’m sick of him” – What Luis Palma did vs Kilmarnock and how he’s not getting what it means to play for Celtic

Luis Palma of Celtic

The Celtic players are coming under fire after a 1-1 draw against Kilmarnock saw Rangers leapfrog us at the top of the table.

With the season drawing to its climax, far too many players are off form and it’s showing with performances and results on the pitch.

However, it was what Luis Palma did against Kilmarnock at Celtic Park that particularly annoyed podcaster, Jerry Taylor, this week.

The Honduran was hooked at halftime after a shocker of a first-half and now his attitude has been brought into question.

Taylor said [A Celtic State of Mind], “My worry is when it comes to the likes of Palma, I put in the group chat, I’m sick of him smiling every time he makes a mistake.

“It’s grinding on me. It was ripping my knitting and it was obviously ripping Brendan’s there by hooking him a half-time. I hate seeing that in a player for any team.

“Even if I’m watching Sunday league. You make a mistake, don’t laugh. I like seeing players punching the ground if they make a mistake. And to me, that means he doesn’t quite get. He doesn’t quite get that now he’s landed at Celtic, it’s not all roses.

“He’s getting loads more money. He’s doing all his TikTok videos and all that. It’s much, much more than that. And if you’re smiling after making mistakes like that, you’re not getting it.”

Luis Palma’s poor Celtic form

After a storming start to the season, Palma has dropped off these couple of months. With eight goals and ten assists in 28 games many would argue that that is not a bad return on the £3.5m spent. [Transfermarkt]

However, it’s been six games in the league since he’s made any kind of contribution to Celtic’s goals and the 24-year-old had better start stepping up.

His early season form has bought him some grace with the Celtic fans but it won’t be too long before the jury, which is currently out on him, will deliver a guilty verdict when it comes to being one of Celtic’s next flops.
