“Needs binned” – Celtic fans call for one thing to happen now after Brendan Rodgers’ team fails to impress

The knives are out this weekend after Celtic lost their impressive unbeaten home record in bizarre fashion against Hearts yesterday.

Brendan Rodgers‘ team’s performance has angered the fans and many of them are now calling into question the Celtic manager’s team selection.

Not only that, his signing policy is being heavily criticised but after the weekend’s defeat, many fans are calling for someone’s head.

But it’s not Rodgers’. As the Celtic manager licks his wounds it’s one of the Hoops hierarchy that these fans want to see the back of.

Celtic fans call for the head of Mark Lawwell

Lawwell was brought in as some sort of transfer guru and was said to be a man who was wanted to be brought in by Ange Postecoglou.

Whilst cynics would disagree with that assertion, popular podcasters, 20 Minute Tims, want to see him sacked for his poor transfer record over recent seasons.

20 Minute Tims tweeted, “We brought in a new manager in the summer and didn’t provide him with the players he needed.

“Sitting with millions of pounds in the bank and absolute dross on the pitch. Not good enough

“Head of recruitment needs binned before he wastes any more of our money.”

The son of Peter Lawwell (stop it!) Mark was brought in for his expertise and connections within The City Group.

I think it’s fair to say it hasn’t worked. And these Celtic fans all agree that he needs to go:

There is absolutely no doubt that the heat is now on just Rodgers, but also the Celtic board.

They had better not let the fans down in January as the patience amongst them is wearing seriously thin.
