Could self-belief be all Celtic needs to get out of survival mode?

Match Day Celtic Park

Ange’s tactics in taking Celtic to the next level are without a doubt not in question but what is, is the
Bhoy’s ability to kick into the next level instead of being stuck in the bare minimum survival mode.

Ange made it clear that Joe Hart’s mistake was inevitable due to players starting to play it safe, and Hart was not solely to blame but the full team, therefore, what can Celtic do to avoid this happening again?

Speaking post-match, Postecoglou said, “It’s not about the mistake, it’s about before then. We had a lot of the ball and we were just passing it back to him (Joe Hart) for no reason.

You are doing what you think is safe but it’s not really what we are.

“I just felt it was creeping in before that after we scored we wanted to settle
for that and started passing the ball back.

It is about what is the lead-up to the mistake, are we playing our football? Are we showing the same sort of
endeavour we were before then?

“I could see it coming, if it wasn’t Joe making the mistake tonight it would
have been someone else.”

We have the skill, class and support but what we do lack is the experience at this level when fairing against Europe’s elite.

Nerves will, of course, play a part but Celtic need to stop retreating back instead of attacking. It seems a lack of self-belief maybe at play and that’s where the gaffer steps in!

Ange has done wonder with developing the skills and confidence of the team but what we need now is for the players
to trust in the process, take the chances and stop playing it safe in defence.

When everything clicks into place, I fear Celtic will be unstoppable and it will be the big dogs fighting
to stay in survival mode!
