“Ibrox is no stranger” – Surprising BBC journalist makes astonishing live Sevco ‘dodgy’ referee claim

Isn’t this a turnup for the books?

Whilst many football fans have made this claim over the years, who would have thought that after they had kissed and made up, a BBC journalist would make a Rangers claim that could potentially open up the ban once more

I was listening to BBC Sportsounds coverage of the SPFL action over the weekend on Open Mike’s and the panel of Michael Stewart, Kenny McIntyre and Tom English were discussing (at weird length) the VAR decision that went against Rangers in the Champions League qualifier against Union.

Whilst they all agreed that the penalty shouldn’t have been awarded, Chick Young offered this incredible bit of insight, “I would just like to reflect that a lot of people listening this programme might be suggesting to you that Ibrox is no stranger to dodgy penalty decisions that usually go in Rangers favour and that maybe there’s a bit of karma about this. I’m only pointing what other people may be saying.”

When pressed further by Michael Stewart ,“What do you think Chick? Is it home to dodgy refereeing decisions?”

Young astonishingly replied, “There has been several over the years Michael. Yes. Absolutely.”

Wow. Who would have thought it?

The conversation was quickly steered away by Kenny McIntyre and it largely went unnoticed by the mainstream media (unsurprisingly) but at least now there is recognition that the referee’s can be inherently ‘dodgy’ in Govan by someone in the media.
