“I genuinely do. Honest to God” – Peter Grant obliterates Morelos on live radio

Someone finally in the punditry game that is going to have an open and honest conversation about Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos.

The Colombian has been a controversial and overrated figure in the Scottish game and the amount of hacks that continually paint him as this world class striker set to leave for tens of millions is genuinely embarrassing.

He’s simply not that good. And his attitude is shocking.

And it’s the latter that has put clubs off from going anywhere near him.

So former Celtic player Peter Grant has his say on the striker and he was pretty damning with his verdict on Alfie.

Speaking on Go Radio, Grant said, “As I say, I thought he was a liability and prior to that in matches in competitions back here, the bread and butter stuff.

“I never thought he was fit enough. I think there was always issues with him coming back from international duty and injuries and whatever.

“And so for me, I don’t think he will be as big a loss as people think. Yeah, I genuinely do. Honest to God.

“Because I watch his goals and I think if somebody else comes in there, and get that quality, I think they’ll get more of a team player with goals. And I think that’s what Rangers are looking for.

“But I think to go to that next level, lets remember how many trophies they’ve not won in the time he has been here.

“He has won one competition he has been involved in.

“So at the end of the day, you need your striker to be in there all the time capable of scoring 25 to 30 goals, especially playing for Celtic or Rangers and I don’t think he’s capable of that.”

My God. How refreshing is that? I bet Grant’s gig will be cancelled at Go Radio now!

But seriously. It’s about time Alfie was called out for what he is. Everyone bar those at Ibrox can see it.

And what Grant pointed out is the very reason why they won’t get anything near £10m for him.
