The £6m move of Jota to Celtic is probably one of the best transfer moves in the last 10 years.
Yes. That’s a big claim, but I’m serious.
This boy can go to the very top.
At just 23 years old, we have seen how Jota’s wizardry on the wing has dazzled the supporters at Paradise and when you take into account his lack of first team games before he came to Celtic, the Portuguese winger is just going to get better and better.
And how did the Benfica fans react? To be fair, some were very rational but some were upset. Really upset.
Because they could see the player that he could become. They could see something special in Jota that the Celtic fans saw as soon as they clapped eyes on him.
And as Benfica put out an official tweet wishing him all the best, their fans were not so happy with whoever let Jota go:
