The 25 cap international former target that Celtic MUST look at

Celtic are said to be in the hunt for a defensive midfielder this summer.

With the transfer of Vinicius Souza looking unlikely as interest grows in the Brazilian, there is one player that the club should surely look at if they are looking to bolster the centre of midfield.

The club were linked to signing Rivaldo Coetzee back in 2017 [Vital Celtic] and after a fee was agreed with the players club, the deal fell through due to a failed medical.

But since then, the player has been capped 25 times by South Africa and after 91 appearances with Sundowns he is now out of contract.

At just 25 years old, surely Coetze is worth a gamble on a free transfer and would not only give us experience in the defensive midfield role allowing Callum McGregor to push further up the park, with no fee comes a relatively risk free gamble.

His injury record isn’t horrific with one major setback in 2017 where he was out for a year and a half with a foot injury and a couple of ankle knocks, but all in all, would be a decent addition to the squad?
