Barry Ferguson’s latest Postecoglou comments won’t endear him to Govan

Celtic are on course for a treble. There is absolutely no doubt about that.

And before anyone tells me not to get ahead of myself, I am not.

I am speaking from what I have witnessed over the last six weeks.

We have seen sexy football, dogged football and a willingness to win at all costs from this team and we are only going to get stronger.

From one of the worst starts to a season by a Celtic manager, Ange Postecoglou has worked wonders these last eight months to get the team to the top of the table and grab the first piece of silverware.

Speaking on Go Radio, Barry Ferguson has been speaking of the job Ange Postecoglou has done so far and it won’t make him popular down Ibrox way as he bigs up the managers determination to bring more silverware to Celtic Park, “I think the most important thing has been when you are a new manager and you get the first trophy in the cabinet, and that’s what he done in the League Cup.

And then once you get the taste of it, you want more.

No doubt about it.

And you can hear he is determined. There’s no doubt about it.

You hear him speak about how the players are training.

Even the ones that have not been getting much game time. So everybody’s desperate to be involved, but that should be the same at any club.

That’s the way that, as a professional, you want it. If you’re left out, be disappointed, but you’ve got to work even harder to try and get in next time.”

And that is the most striking factor about the Celtic gaffer. His sheer determination and unwillingness to accept that the football the team play cannot be improved.

He always wants more from his team.

Even after the Glasgow Derby, he pointed that he still wants improvement.

That is the mark of a man who will take us to a treble.

And maybe even European glory…….
