I have to take my hat off to Atlanta United.
They played their hand, and they played it well.
And to be fair, so did Giorgos Giakoumakis.
The Greek striker bided his time and waited to see if a better offer came up than Urawa Reds and in swooped Atlanta United.
Some journalists called it a ‘hijacking’, I would call it a blinding hand well played by Giakoumakis and his agent and fair play to the lad.
And as Atlanta rinsed their transfer rivals, the Japanese clubs fans were left less than impressed with the player, the announcement and Atlanta United:
