“Total provocation”, “I was made a fool of” – Japanese fans rage as bitter replies to Giakoumakis announcement are posted

I have to take my hat off to Atlanta United.

They played their hand, and they played it well.

And to be fair, so did Giorgos Giakoumakis.

The Greek striker bided his time and waited to see if a better offer came up than Urawa Reds and in swooped Atlanta United.

Some journalists called it a ‘hijacking’, I would call it a blinding hand well played by Giakoumakis and his agent and fair play to the lad.

And as Atlanta rinsed their transfer rivals, the Japanese clubs fans were left less than impressed with the player, the announcement and Atlanta United:

Translation: Damn Atlanta, I never thought you would kick me to death!
Translation: I was made a fool of

There were plenty of other responses that even I wouldn’t want to post on here but it is fair to say the Urawa fans are far from happy.

But what I did see was a Celtic fans response to the transfer announcement which I thought was very, very interesting:
