Roger Hannah shares what he witnessed Celtic do that ‘astonished’ him at full time last week at Tynecastle. Hoops fans will not be surprised

Lisbon Lions Stand, Celtic Park

To be honest, there is nothing that really surprises me about this Celtic team.

Our ability to pull out a piece of magic to get a result when it looks like nothing is going on is now becoming the norm.

Ross County and Dundee United found that out to their dismay last season and St Johnstone, this season, were at the receiving end of another one of Celtic’s late, late shows.

But we also have the ability to simply blow teams away. Just like we did at Tynecastle last week in the Scottish Cup.

However, it wasn’t anything that happened in the ninety minutes in Gorgie that had journalist Roger Hannah gushing.

Speaking on Superscoreboard, Hannah said, “The good thing for David Turnbull, the one good point from today is he will miss the Celtic warm down.

I was astonished last week. Normally when a final whistle goes on a game on a Saturday, I need to dash down the stairs to interview the manager.

And last week at Tynecastle, Gabriel went down and I sat and I got to watch the Celtic warm down which is as vigorous and as energetic as I’ve ever seen.”

That, to me, is not really a surprise. To me that it just second nature to our players.

The intensity of the training and our play needs to be matched in the warm down for the players that don’t participate in a match because if it didn’t, they would seriously struggle to make any kind of impact whenever called up from the bench.

This just underpins Postecoglou’s philosophy and why we are so effective in attack over the course of a full ninety minutes.
