Barry Ferguson has title ‘hope’ and doesn’t understand the term ‘freak results’

There is hope, of course there is. But it looks like blind hope for wee Barry.

And the reason I say that is because that looking at how Celtic are playing at the moment, I can’t see the sort of results Barry is looking for to happen.

Fifteen games, fourteen wins. One loss.

That’s the form of champions and with Ange Postecoglou already adding players to his squad, you just can’t see us dropping over nine points to gift *Rangers a title chance.

But Barry Ferguson has hope.

Speaking on The Go Radio Football Show, Barry said, “You can’t give up. If you give up, listen you’re playing at Rangers, it has been tough. Don’t get me wrong.

It’s been tough this season, certainly with some of the results leading up to this World Cup break.

Nine points is as a big ask.

But listen, I’ve been involved in football for a long time knowing that freak results can happen.

You’ve seen it with Celtic previous at St Mirren last month but listen, Rangers just need to concentrate on number one and that’s themselves and making sure that they’re getting the points on the board.

And then you hope that Celtic go and maybe drop a point or three points.”

That’s the problem with freak results. They don’t come around too often. Hence the name.

There is more chance of them dropping more points than us to be honest.

As they scramble around trying to get Ryan Kent and Alfie to sign new contracts, Ange is quickly looking at freshening up our squad for the title run in.

Keep hoping Barry, because that is what eventually kills you.
