What Tom English said about Philippe Clement is being roasted by Celtic fans

Tom English talks Celtic

The media in Scotland have long been held with a sense of distrust by the Celtic fans.

Quick to put the boot into Celtic, they somehow give the Ibrox club a free pass whenever the potential of anything negative can be said about them.

And none are worse than Tom English. The BBC journalist doesn’t miss a trick whenever it comes to calling out Celtic or our fans.

Not too long ago he was crying about the Celtic fan songbook whilst never uttered a thing when the Ibrox supporters sang about killing Catholics and their anti-Irish racsim.

See the irony here? And the best thing about it was that less than two weeks ago, before the Glasgow Derby, English was like a giddy schoolgirl as he fawned over Rangers manager, Philippe Clement.

Celtic fans roast Tom English

The BBC journalist took it upon himself to put Clement on a pedestal before he faced Celtic in the latest piece of succulent lamb about the Rangers gaffer.

English said [BBC], “Too often in the past, Rangers managers, coaches and players have expressed madcap delusions of superiority over their city rivals, a form of collective hypnosis that was surreal to observe.

“Clement has brought clarity of message and purpose. He’s driven much of the hubris out the door and you get the impression that if any still lurks in the corridors of the training ground he’ll find it and get rid of it.

“There’s a relentlessness about Clement, a refusal to allow anybody to smell the roses until the job is done. Every time he’s asked to project too far forward, he repeats his mantra. Next game, next game, next game. Right man, right place, right time.”

And that was only half of the sickly article. Let’s remember, Clement has only really won one meaningful game against a big club and that was Real Betis in Europe.

Yes, he won the League Cup against Aberdeen but it took a shockingly bad VAR call to help him get the better of a team sitting 10th in the league.

Since then he has failed against Celtic, Ross County and Dundee and could very well exit the Scottish Cup this Sunday.

Talk about jumping the gun. I suppose we should be thanking English because if it wasn’t for that nonsensical article praising Clement to the high heavens, we probably wouldn’t be witnessing the amount of pain we have done this week.
