As the John Beaton Celtic VAR controversy continues this week, there are those in the Scottish media that simply refuse to believe that match officials favour Rangers over any other team.
In fact, the pattern of assistance that regularly favours the Ibrox club was expertly explained Alan Morrison of Celtic by Numbers when he appeared on a Graham Spiers podcast just a few short weeks ago.
In that, Morrison succinctly proved that Rangers have been benefitting from favourable decisions for a number of seasons now and found it strange that no one in the Scottish media has picked it up.
Of course, this was met with howls of derision from the usual suspects in the Scottish pen-pushing industry but the facts don’t lie. How they never question the number of handballs Connor Goldson gets away with is beyond me.
In fact, it’s been going on for decades. And what Craig Levein said about it way back in 2008 will absolutely resonate with the Celtic supporters today.

When Levein was manager of Dundee United in 2008 he took his side to Ibrox knowing that a win would put the Tannadice club would put them in firm contention for a European spot.
However, the Tangerines went down 3-1 to the Ibrox club in a result that left Levein raging about a wrongly disallowed United goal, a penalty and Rangers red card that was denied and a Daniel Cousin punch that was bizarrely missed by all the officials in the ground.

Quite incredible. And it’s also incredible that these types of decisions are still going on despite the referees having VAR to help them get it right.

I think it’s a bit of both ref’s have got worse and they’re a bit corruption as well
All this happened and yet nothing done away back then,IMO the only way for SFA to take notice walk off the pitch. If you do this then it becomes world headlines and they can’t hide from it.

Yes it’s totally corrupt always has and always will be and wee dim tim shugie keevins and his media cronies don’t call it out it will stay the same
I’m 61and my Dad , God Bless Him, told me when I was a wee boy that Celtic weren’t just up against 11 players. They were up against the ref & linesman aswell.
