Celtic cyberspace has been buzzing with the latest rumour that Mark Lawwell is leaving the club at the end of the season.
Lawwell has come under some serious scrutiny this season after Celtic’s last two transfer windows had been branded a disaster by the Hoops support.
Spending vasts sums of money in the summer on players that are now deemed not good enough was the beginning.
And after the club failed to strengthen properly in the January window, Lawwell and the rest of the Celtic board are now under serious pressure from the fans.
Rumours emerged today of Lawwell’s predicted resignation at the end of the season and they were met with widespread joy but it’s not enough for the Celtic fans.
Celtic fans want Peter Lawwell out
Lawwell Snr is widely regarded as the man behind Celtic’s failures in the transfer window.
His return to the club coincides with Celtic’s transfer policy seemingly reverting to type when he was the CEO and the fans have had enough.
On social media channel X the supporters were all having their say with one posting, “Peter Lawwell leaving again then?”
Another said, “One Lawwell down One to go then make a start on the Strachanseseses.” and another said, “Rodgers stays, Lawwell goes!”
One fan wad very clear in what he wanted next, “Can he take his Da with him ?” whilst another wanted a full clear out, “Now also get rid of:

- Michael Nicholson- earns £711K, far too weak and a puppet yes man
3.Craig Strachan- Senior UK & European Scout.”
So the fan’s feelings are perfectly clear, it’s time for a massive overhaul at Celtic and the Lawwell’s are just the start.
